Energy Audit

A thorough, professional Home Energy Audit conducted by All Season Inspection in partnership with approved service organizations, can help homeowners qualify for up to $5,000 in rebates and incentives from the Government of Canada. The Government of Canada has undertaken the ecoENERGY Retrofit Homes Program initiative with the goal of increasing the energy efficiency of homes across Canada. Developed by Natural Resources Canada, the residential energy evaluation service will provide expert, third-party advice to homeowners and potential buyers about how to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Aside from Government Incentives, there are other direct benefits associated with a proper Home Energy Audit such as reducing energy bills, improving the level of home comfort, increasing a home’s value, providing recommendations for effective home improvement and renovation plans, reducing the risk for greenhouse gases and maintaining sound ventilation, providing independent third-party energy efficiency advice etc.

Step 1

The Pre-retrofit Audit performed to gather information about the current state of a home's efficiency. This process includes an extensive measurement of the insulation coverage of the basement and attic, all walls, mechanical equipment, windows, Blower Door Test and taking pictures of the areas inspected. Once our initial audit is complete, an energy efficiency report will be provided which outlines the details of the home as well as the recommended upgrades that help reduce energy waste in the home.

Step 2

The Post-retrofit Audit performed to verify whether or not all the recommended upgrades have been completed. This evaluation includes taking pictures of the upgrades, taking notes on the mechanical systems and performing a second Blower Door test to assess air sealing improvements. The Post-retrofit Audit must be performed within the defined time line after the initial Pre-retrofit evaluation.
